The 12 Blogs of Christmas: Day 2
The Flipping Bird
If you’ve owned a pet bird, you might know a thing or two about their temperament. Or perhaps you won’t. Because their temperament, it appears, is quite an impossible thing for any human to grasp.
You see, Mr. and Mrs. Kringle have a beautiful white Goffin cockatoo, Frosty, who loves singing, dancing, and saying, “Hello!” He likes to be a part of family happenings, especially at Christmastime. So when Mrs. Kringle was getting a jump start on wrapping some gifts, it was no surprise that Frosty was perched on her shoulder.
What was a surprise, however, was the force with which he bit her finger. No one can predict why these feathered hellions get into the moods they do.
Luckily, Mrs. Kringle is a forgiving woman. She refrained from flipping the bird across the room and instead ushered him gently back into his cage so she could tend to her throbbing finger.
Did you know cockatoos can crack up walnuts and chew through entire window sills in mere moments? Who needs nutcrackers if you have a bird?
